It’s like my Catholic upbringing is coming full circle. I grew up with a song by Cristy Lane, “One Set of Footprints in the Sand.

The lyrics resonate deeply: “One night I dreamed a dream. As I was walking along the beach with my Lord…” The imagery of those footprints, one set mine, and one belonging to the Lord, has always stayed with me.

In the darkest moments of my life, I often questioned why there was only one set of footprints. But now I understand, it was then that the Lord carried me, never leaving my side. This realization merges with the Holy Spirit I received in confirmation, now becoming Holy Fire within me.

It’s been a journey, a quest for complete surrender, something I’ve yearned for over the years but struggled to attain. Yet, now, I sense that I’m finally on the path to wholeness, embracing Holy Fire with open arms.
